Keeping Our Hearts for God

"Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life." Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)

Our heart is the key to our lives, the course of our life is directed by our hearts. Its our responsibility to keep our hearts for God. The Bible says that David had a heart after God that would do His will. Our heart is like a compass, we will know in what direction our lives will go according to the compass of our hearts.

In the following verses of Proverbs 4 there are 3 things given that I believe will allow us to keep our hearts for God.

verse 24, "Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips."

Our Mouths, we need to keep a watch at our mouths. The anointing of the Holy Spirit is easily destroyed by wrong conversation, In Ephesians it talks about not grieving the Holy Spirit, especially by what comes out of our mouths. Lets guard our mouths and let only things that glorify God and bless Him come out.

verse 25, "Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you."

Our Vision, I have met many Christians who do not know what their calling in life is. We are all called and God has a purpose for each one of us, we need to fix our eyes on our purpose and run after it.
1Corinthians 12:27-28, says that we are all part of the Body of Christ, just as each member of the body has a specific purpose so we each have a specific purpose.

verse 26, "Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil."

Our Walk, let us stay on the right path. Keeping our feet from walking into evil, living yielded and submitted to the Lord. We need to keep on the narrow road. Amen

In this day and hour God is looking for those whose hearts are following Him.

prayer:
Lord, may I keep my heart for You. Set a guard at my mouth and watch me that I will never get out from Your will. Keep my eyes focused on You and the purposes that you have called me to and keep me from evil, I pray. I yield to You, have Your way in my life I pray, In Jesus name. Amen.
